Una ráfaga de movimientos antes de la fecha límite de comercio indica la intención de los Padres de San Diego de ganar una Serie Mundial por primera vez en la historia de la franquicia. Sin duda, los Padres ganaron la fecha límite de intercambio esta temporada. Cuando puedes añadir a Josh Hader, Juan Soto, Josh Bell y Brandon Drury a un club de béisbol ya estelar, el objetivo final es llevar a casa el trofeo de la Serie Mundial.
Especialmente cuando se puede añadir a Juan Soto, que ha sido comparado con Ted Williams y fue la mayor estrella que se movió durante la fecha límite. The San Diego Padres are Going All in on a World Series
A flurry of moves prior to the trade deadline indicates the San Diego Padres intention to win a World Series for the first time in franchise history. Without a doubt, the Padres won the trade deadline this season. When you can add Josh Hader, Juan Soto, Josh Bell, and Brandon Drury to an already stellar ball club the end goal is bringing home the World Series trophy.
Especially when you can add the likes of Juan Soto who has drawn comparisons to Ted Williams and was the biggest star to be moved during the deadline. With the addition of Soto, to go along with Manny Machado and Fernando Tatis Jr. the Padres now possess the best trio of Dominican ballplayers any team has ever had.
Soto is under team control until 2025 when he will reach free agency unless he and the Padres strike up a deal before then. So if the Padres want to win it all with the trio of Soto, Machado, and Tatis Jr. they’re only guaranteed a three-year window.
Considering they’re in the National League they’ll have stiff competition from the New York Mets and the Los Angeles Dodgers which makes the road to a World Series more challenging, especially when they just got swept by the Dodgers.
Since August 2nd the day of the deadline the Padres have gone 3-4, any contending team would hope for better results after the flurry of trades they made but their overall record of 61-50 is still good enough for the third wildcard spot. Something they’ve done all season without Tatis Jr. who is arguably the face of the franchise.
However, with Tatis starting his rehab assignment recently with the Double-A San Antonio Missions he is expected to make his 2023 season debut before the end of this month. Getting Tatis Jr. back will be a huge advantage for the Padres and can possibly leapfrog to the first wildcard spot with the imminent return of the star shortstop.
These are exciting times for San Diego Padres fans who have big expectations for the team and their new trio of superstars. The end goal as it is for many teams is to win a championship. The owner’s commitment to doing so is unquestionably there. From the signing of Manny Machado to now they have had one goal in mind. Bringing a World Series championship to San Diego. Now only time will tell if they achieve their goal or end up falling short.
